Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible for maintenance and projects in the feed yard

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leadership within the maintenance department training, supervising, evaluating, and leading team members.
    ·        Maintains and performs repairs in areas of the feed yard including pen bedding ground, feed allies, bunks, and gates.
  • Repairs water lines,cleans, and fixes tanks.
  • Puts out hay and cleansup any loose hay on the ground.
  • Sets wasp and fly baitwhen needed.
  • Mows weeds and maintainsgrass areas.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on equipment operated for the day.
  • Performs meter readings and precipitation readings.
  • Completes regular washing and cleaning of equipment inside and out.
  • Maintains regular housekeeping of shop, pump houses, and storage areas.
  • Teamwork and efficiency are expected as well as assisting in various departments of the feed yard when necessary.
  • Communicates with Yard Manager and across departments to ensure optimal function of Maintenance Department.
  • Operates heavy equipment in feed yard.  
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Keeps shop and facilities clean to prevent accidents.
  • Leadership, teamwork, communication, and efficiency are essential as well as assisting in various departments of the feed yard when necessary.
  • Acts as a leader of the Dinklage safety program implementing policies and procedures and keeps up to date with safety regulations and requirements.
  • Professionalism is expected including courtesy and respect to team members, customers, and vendors.

Education / Experience

Experience operating heavy equipment.

Knowledge of various tasks in maintenance department.

Previous experience supervising teams.
